Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
Since 1985, the Children’s Hospital transport team has provided highly specialized care and transport of critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients from hospitals all over Michigan using a dedicated ambulance, Panda One. Panda One is designed for the special needs of the neonatal or pediatric patient.
The Panda One is staffed by two DMCare Express EMT’s, specially trained registered nurses, and respiratory therapists that provide an extension of Children’s Hospital to the community 24/7. The team is trained in an advanced practice role and functions under physician directed protocols and standards specific to the care of infants and children.
